due to the inconsistency of my mood, will, and many other x-factors, this account is (again) put to hiatus for a few months.

sorry for all the deviants who commented, faved, or watched me while the time being, for not able to respond to your kind attention. :)

as for now, [link] is re-re-opened again! yaaayy!

Levels of Fanaticism.

Sat Feb 16, 2008, 8:10 PM
So now that everyone already seem to know the-unimportant-fact-that-I-have-joined-DA-from-such-a-long-time, I might as well use this "journal" to chitty-chatty and stuff. You like my writings, go and comment on it. If you don't, just keep it for yourself. The "back" button is there on the upper-left of your screen. :lmao:

So as, maybe, almost everyone knows, I'm a fan of a soccer team called Arsenal. An English soccer team, to be precise. Well, I've been liking them since, maybe 2000-2001, but back then I was such a geek, so I didn't really care about their matches, players (although I know some of the famous players), or history.

And when I was not THAT geek anymore (yes, I still am now. lol.), I decided to put a bigger "portion" of my life for Arsenal. I bought their merchandise, watching their matches, knowing their players, down to the reserves team, and well, things any other fan will do.

Last night, I attended (forced to attend, to be exact. :lmao:) a "NonBar" (where fans from two teams gather in a place to watch the match.) in a cafe somewhere in Jakarta.
Well, my team got a defeat, 4-0, and to make things worse, by Manchester United, which have been somekind of an "Arch-Rival" to Arsenal. Personally I was kinda dissapointed, but well, that's game, there will be the one to win, and the one to lose.

Well, I thought it was only a game, a soccer game.
Until I saw the fans of both teams last night, where maybe, their level of fanaticism is WAY higher than me. They sing good songs about their own team, and bad-mouthed songs about the other team, they painted their faces, brought banners, and everything. And it came to the worst part, where when the team of one of them wins, they insult the other team's fans, hence, could "ignite" an argument (which you know the words wouldn't be pleasant, AT ALL. :D), or worse, a fight.

This is what makes me realize, damn, what do they get from it? I mean, to quote my friend Dipa, the team doesn't even know you're liking them. And maybe they don't even care IF someone was killed during a NonBar in Jakarta. Like, D'OH! :lmao:

It's maybe I haven't reached that level of fanaticism, which I most likely never would, or maybe I just can't see it's more than a game?

Oh, and just in case someone READS this, and WONDERING why I wrote this, I was pissed on my friends (whom of course the fan of Manchester United), although not all of them, actions. They insulted every person they know being a fan of Arsenal, and talk-trash about them, and of course their team. And they brag like they OWN the team. Or, frankly, like a child gets a Sony Playstation 3.

Wait, does getting pissed from somebody insulting my team, and write these things includes me into "those-high-leveled-fanatics"?
I wonder. :D
